Parkview Park #28

Parkview Park

#28 on City of Corona's Park Listing is located at: 2094 Parkview Drive Corona, Ca. 92879. This park is not an official dog park, but dogs are allowed onsite. Parkview is a nice place to walk your dog. The park has a quiet serene setting to it, as it is sandwiched in between a couple of housing/condo tracks and behind a school. There is a baseball field in the lower end and the upper end is real quiet with an open grass area to play soccer or throw a frisbee, football, or even fly a kite on a nice day like today. I would want to visit this park again as it is conveniently located, has easy access, and I like that it has a walking trail that takes just about 10 minutes to walk around. It's about a 860 steps, or about .85 of a mile, around the dirt trail of the park and out to the sidewalk and around to the parking lot each time, and you can challenge yourself up and down the steps a few times mid-way at the top of the trail. As the park inclines up. In the back of the park there is a nice view of the surrounding area. All Corona parks are Tobacco free and this park is open 6am-9pm. There are however; no restrooms or BBQs located at this facility. There is a picnic table area but no trash cans or drinking fountains. Make sure you wear tennis shoes to walk on the gravelly path.

We decided to come up with our own list of questions that we would ask ourselves as we visited and took walks, had a picnic, or played at each park. Then we will create a story of our answers so you, the reader, will be more informed, if you choose to visit this park.

JAMESON PARK Is a great dog or frisbee park. It has lots of great open space to take a walk, or even play catch or hit some balls too. The park is approximately 8-10 acres and nestled between two neighborhoods. The parking lot is located on Valencia, but the park stretches down to Foothill Ave. and is conveniently located between Rimpau Ave. and Fullerton. The park creates a serene area with a sensational view of the East and South areas of Corona. It would be beautiful at night parked up in the parking lot looking out at the city lights too. The park is a short walk from Santiago High School. There is no playground, or picnic tables, or extras. There is a drinking fountain, several trash cans, and a couple of resting benches to just relax. After our picnic dinner, we took a walk from the parking lot down to Foothill and back up with the family (we should have brought our dog!) There were 1127 steps along the walking path down the hill and back up to the parking lot. We used a downloadable iphone treadmill APP to count the steps, if your a walker that likes to track their daily steps we thought we would note our information. The park hours are from 5am-10:30pm. No bikes, skateboards, or roller skates are allowed. There are also no bathrooms, or BBQs, and the park is a Tobacco free place to play. Again, I wish to mention - great dog and frisbee park. Would I return you may ask? Yes, to walk my dog and just run around in the open area AND one evening to see the night view!
